"why are you still so concerned with HIM?" is so impactful because despite how much jimmy hurt everyone, ESPECCIALLY Anya who he never mentions again after she passes, he only cared about taking responsibility for curly.

Curly could have done sooo many things to actually help Anya or hold Jimmy accountable, but I still don't think he deserved what he got. He's an enabler and not a good person, but he is still a victim of Jimmy in a way.

I rly love this game, what Jimmy does is ridiculous, but I think the game just takes what people would do/act like irl and shows it in an extreme way and make ppl reflect. Ty for playing it on stream!

I love how curly is written, bc even tho he's insanely flawed and he COULD HAVE fixed the problems, but didnt. He wasn't evil, but he made the wrong choices. And in the end, Jimmy NEVER mentioned anya

This game is so amazing I'm so glad you got to play it. You can see why we were begging for it lmao we knew you'd enjoy it. Your voice work was incredible I loved how into it you got. The storytelling is so good and it's really worth noting the details and foreshadowing either reading about it or doing a second playthrough. I'm so glad this game got the recognition it did and gained so much popularity, it absolutely deserves it. . . . . . . . (spoilers) Some of my favorite details are how Anya's appearance is based on Shelly Duvall and how the story is written around her. She asks about locks on the sleeping quarters, keeps her bedroll near the motion activated Polle, never drinks the mouthwash, can't stand the sound of choking, the baby crying in the ambience... I'ts really f'ing grim. Jimmy's freaky cartoon horse thing just to mess with Anya, his first instinct to get Swansea out of the way is to make a spiked drink and then manipulating Daisuke to put himself in danger- it's all subtle enough to keep you in the hero perspective that Jimmy's trying to paint for himself. Yet when it's all over you understand how messed up everything was in hindsight. Swansea burying the axe into the sunset, then calling Daisuke a useless ray of sunshine- The foreshadowing and themes of taking responsibility and running away from your own life, it's all so incredibly crafted. I really love this game and I agree it's one of the best horror games of late.

First of all: you are the ONLY jimmy in my heart I'm so glad this is my first experience watching someone play this game, I've only ever seen a few seconds of gameplay until now. I loved your takes on the game and I love how you put a sort of optimistic takeaway on part of it even with how dark and disturbing this game is, I don't think a lot of people would do that/be able to do that, at least not on their first impressions (I certainly didn't until you started explaining it more and then I understood where you were coming from and could see what you meant). (spoilers for the game in case anyone is reading this before watching or while they're watching the VOD) This game really gives you a lot to chew on (maybe I shouldn't phrase it that way for this game lmao). This is probably one of my favorite horror games that I've seen, I love how much this game does in such a short amount of time, it's so compact, no filler, everything has purpose, all while also not necessarily spoon-feeding said purpose to you. The imagery, foreshadowing, and visual metaphors are SO GOOD. The game makes you think and makes you confused and then when you realize stuff it's like an epiphany slapping you right in the face. Even if that epiphany slap is incredibly disturbing and horrifying. I LOVE this kind of stuff. I love how Swansea was a parallel to Jimmy while Curly was a foil to Jimmy. Swansea had done terrible mistakes in his life, but unlike Jimmy, he took responsibility for what he did, he recognized what he did wrong, took it on the chin, and tried to do good and be better (maybe even trying to be a better father through mentoring Daisuke(i) than he had been to his own children). He faced his mistakes and tried to continue forward for the little things. Meanwhile, Curly took TOO MUCH responsibility, so much so that he completely overcompensated and ended up making horrible mistakes. Jimmy manipulated Curly into thinking his terrible actions were Curly's fault, Jimmy forced him to take responsibility for what HE had done. Even when he was so desperately trying to "save" Curly, instead of maybe sacrificing a part of HIS body, his body that was uninjured and completely intact, he fed Curly PART OF HIS OWN LEG! Curly's leg which had ALREADY BEEN PARTIALLY BLOWN OFF from Curly trying to take responsibility for one of Jimmy's actions! Not only that, but he "fed" it to the rest of the crew too! He probably ate a chunk of Curly's leg himself! This coward couldn't even give a part of himself to Curly to "save" him and instead just continued to take from Curly and tortured him, deluding himself into thinking he was being some kind of hero. Jimmy did one of the worst things a person can possibly do and literally EVERYONE faces more consequences than he does for what he did. I'm pretty sure he didn't even feel guilty for what he did to Anya, I'm pretty sure his guilt was entirely centered around what happened to Curly (and maybe Daisuke(i), I think he might have just felt bad about him being so young and innocent and having to go through all that). Jimmy was nothing but a coward and an absolute selfish piece of garbage.

With you being my favorite director & knowing of your interest in filmmaking/storytelling overall, I was really curious to see the way you'd perceive the game. From your comments on the atmosphere & style of it, to the framing & storyline itself, and each of your closing thoughts about it all at the end, I was thoroughly captivated. I loved the emotion in your delivery of the lines- as well as the tone/uniqueness of which you saw fit for each character's manner of speech! I'd like to appreciate the ending conversation you lead about the game near the end more avidly, but I don't have the words to do so accurately right now unfortunately! Just know the perspective you brought is one I think's impactful. One I hadn't heard delved into in such a way yet regarding the game. I think this's the 14th or so full-story playthrough vid I've watched of it so far? (Plus various short interpretations from others.) I hope what I'm trying to express makes sense when I say: the talking points you brought up really deepened my understanding and personal insight on many aspects of what Mouthwashing covers. Each time, you bring the characters to life in such a vivid way, making them feel more three-dimensional and real, and it helps me immerse myself in the story, truly experiencing the game’s narrative. As for my humble thoughts, I really like the storytelling style of this game. For example, the way it first shows the disaster happening, then lets the player deduce some truths or lies in the aftermath, and later intersperses the story of everything that happened before the disaster, allowing players to imagine an "if" storyline—what might have happened if the disaster had not occurred. This approach actually heightens the feelings of despair, helplessness, and regret that the characters experience. I really agree with what you said at the end. Personally, if I mess something up, or if I have to lie to the people I love and care about, as long as it’s something that’s mine to bear, I don’t think it’s the end of the world. But the thought of them suffering because of my actions really tortures me. Yet, just as you said, we must take responsibility, not run away, because there’s always something we can do, and things can always take a turn for the better. Sorry for rambling with my simplistic thoughts. Looking forward to every stream you bring us in the future! Love you!

I judged this game too early, until i watched the entire thing. The story is so well written, starting simple and going so complicated, disturbing still (thank god it's polygon) Fear, guilt, and responsibility are always in a line, no matter how fast and how long we run, they will find us. Even facing them is so hard, we have to try- and personally, this is what I'm working on. Gotta be brave and better. This game makes me so emotional lol. Thank you for streaming this game milord!
